Join us for an entertaining and informative event to celebrate 95 years of the Persons Case, when Canadian women became eligible for appointment to the Senate of Canada. Originally a platform to discuss suffrage and women's issues, modern Pink Teas inspire conversations around equality issues that still challenge us today.
We will begin the evening with a visit from Nellie McClung (played by Betty Hersberger), one of the Famous 5, who played a part in Canadian women becoming recognized as "qualified persons" who could be appointed to the Senate of Canada. Our program will continue with a nod to craftivism, as we fashion a wall hanging out of yarn and natural wood. And of course, there will be tea!
