Library Clerk
 
The Crossfield Municipal Library is looking to fill 1 daytime shift on Thursday mornings from 10am to 1pm, with additional shift coverage as needed.
 
Responsibililties
* maintaining security of the building, contents, cash, and data.
* processing materials borrowed and returned.
* assisting library users, in person and over the phone, to find and use library materials and services.
* help library users with the public Internet computer stations as required.
* collect and record payments from library users.
* other tasks that may be assigned by the Library Manager.
Qualifications:
* Education - high school graduate.
* Physical - This job involves frequent reaching, bending, standing and carrying.
* Personal Qualities - Flexible attitude, initiative, imagination, neatness, good communication and organizational skills, desire and ability to work with volunteers and other staff.
* A love of books and reading.
Employment Terms:
Employment start date is October 16, 2017
Hours:  3 hours per week, with possibility of filling in other shifts as needed.
Wage is $13.60 per hour

* Education - minimum of grade eight completed and age 14 is required.
* Physical - This job involves frequent reaching, bending, standing and carrying.
* Personal Qualities - Flexible attitude, initiative, imagination, neatness, good communication and organizational skills, desire and ability to work with volunteers and other staff.
* A love of books and reading.
Employment Terms:
Employment start date is October 16, 2017
Hours:  9 to 10 hours per week, split into 3 shifts:  2 week nights and alternating Friday afternoons and Saturday mornings.
Wage is $13.60 per hour

Library Closing

11 September 2017

WE’RE MOVING!!   Our last day at the current library location on Chisholm Ave. will be Wednesday, September 27th.  We will close at 8PM.   We plan to re-open  October 16th at 10:00am at our new site (1210 Railway Street, beside the ATB).

During the closure...
Due Dates - will be adjusted so that no due date will occur during closure.  PLEASE DO NOT RETURN ITEMS TO OUR LIBRARY DURING CLOSURE.  Materials can be returned to Airdrie Public Library if so desired.
Holds - during the closure, holds will be unavailable for pickup
Programs - StoryHour will be held at the United Church (1005 Ross Street) October 4 and 11 at 10am.
Lego Club and Robotics Club will start up after the move.
Growing Young Readings will start again in January 2018

During the closure, feel free to visit nearby public libraries such as Airdrie,Beiseker, and Cochrane. Use these branches as you would your home library.  For a complete list of participating TRAC libraries visit www.tracpac.ab.ca/about
